Getting Our Hopes Up

Getting Our Hopes Up

There is the question why did Jesus heal so much? Should we “get our hopes up,” and have faith He can heal? The argument is Jesus just healed people to only demonstrate His divinity. That’s interesting considering how He interacted with the centurion soldier.

The soldier came to Jesus and asked Jesus to heal his servant who was far away. The centurion had so much faith he said that Jesus had to just say the word and his servant would be healed.

Ok another story of Jesus and his divinity healing someone.  Why is this so important? It’s important because of how Jesus responded. He was amazed at the faith of the centurion.

Don’t we want to do things that amaze Jesus? I want God’s will for my life. Is having tremendous faith not the point of that? What is faith anyway? How can we have faith in Jesus if we don’t know what faith is?

So what is faith? Faith is a belief in an outcome we desire. Desire means de = of, sire = father, desire = of the father. So faith is an outcome from the father.

God does not come to steal, kill, or destroy. So if God is your father why would you think he would want that for you? He wouldn’t and it’s not a huge ask for him to demonstrate his power and heal you or your loved one.

He does it all the time in the light of eternity it’s seems easy by simple logic if he can save you for forever, he can heal you right now.

We should “get our hopes up” that’s what makes us believers. Knock, knock, knock and keep knocking. Keep believing for your miracle that will glorify God and give Him the chance to demonstrate his divinity.

Healing should be accepted by all churches like it was in the book of James where it literally says when you’re sick call the elders of the church together and have them pray.

God first then our circumstances

Verses used when thinking about this blog.

”Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?“
‭‭Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

”But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.“
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

”Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.“
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

”And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, and saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.“
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8‬:‭5‬-‭10‬ ‭KJV‬

”Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:“
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

”whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.“
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

”But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.“
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 KJV

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: But a broken spirit drieth the bones.“ ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭22‬ ‭KJV

”And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?“
‭‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭4‬-‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

”But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.“
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

”Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:“
‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬
